Scholastic BOGO Book Fair: May 16-20

Next week your LMC will be transformed into another exciting Scholastic Book Fair. Even more exciting than the fall fair: this is a BOGO fair! All items will be buy one, get one free. Stock up on some great summer reading favorites both old and new. Here's a little glimpse at what you will find beginning Monday.

The book fair will be open each day from 7:45-3:30 and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 3:30-9:00.

The Scholastic Monster Book Fair Begins Next Week

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open for business in the library beginning Monday, November 16. The book fair will be open all week during regular school hours and during parent teacher conferences until Friday, November 20.  Come in and shop for some great deals during SRT, lunches, or any other time that your teachers allow.  All of your purchases support our school library.

Thanks for our best book fair yet!

Wow!  New London Intermediate Middle School you have risen to the challenge once again!  We are awed by your support and generosity. This was our most successful book fair ever!  We not only exceeded our sales goal, but we also collected the most All for Books donations EVER!  This year through our All for Books classroom competition, you donated $837.05 to our school library.  This money was not only used to purchase additional books for our school library, but Scholastic is also matching the amount that we collected and donating that money to schools in need.  We are so lucky to have such generous students at our school.  Here is a peek at what we were able to add to our library with your All for Books donations and our book fair sales profit.

A special thank you goes out to the following classrooms that collected the most money during our All for Books competition.  The top three classrooms earned a doughnut party, and the remaining classrooms received some special Halloween treats.

Teen Read Week has officially begun!

Today marks day one of our Teen Read Week celebration.  We will be connecting Teen Read Week this year to our Scholastic Book fair and celebrate both special events at once!  Below you will find a complete list of our fun activities.  Participate throughout the week to win some great prizes.  Check out the bulletin board outside of the library to see if you can unmask the teachers hiding behind the knight masks.

Another one of our activities is to guess how many mints it takes to freshen a dragon's breath.  Find the bucket of mints and guessing sheets on the circulation desk.  Beware the dragon!

Here is a complete list of our Teen Read Week activities.  Remember the Scholastic Book Fair will start beginning Tuesday, October 21 at 4pm and run through Friday, October 31.  We look forward to seeing you in the library!

NLMSIS Students Care about Literacy!

Wow!  We are amazed at your generous spirit.  Not only did our school have its most successful Scholastic Book Fair ever, but you also donated an astounding extra $563.28 to Scholastic's All for Books program!  With your donations, we were able to buy extra books for the library, and Scholastic matches what we collected and donates that amount to schools in need.  How awesome is that?!  Here is just a snapshot of the All for Books money collected and the books that your donations purchased for the library.  Do you see any of your favorites?

Explore our Reading Oasis!

In a little over a week our library will no longer be the same.  On October 14, when you enter our doors,  you will be taken back in time to an age of mummies and ancient tombs.  Our library will no longer be just a library but instead a "reading oasis."  Stop in the library from October 14-21 to shop for some great book fair deals.  We will be open daily from 7:50-3:30 and during parent-teacher conferences on October 15 and 17 from 4-8.  Can't make it to the book fair?  You can shop online by going to our book fair homepage.  Your book fair purchases help us build our school library and promote a love of reading.  We can't wait to see you enter our "reading oasis"!

Thank you to everyone for a very successful book fair! We met our goal and exceeded our profits from last year. Watch for our spring book fair arriving in March. Thanks to all of the students who also participated in our Teen Read Week activities. We hope that you enjoyed the week.

The Book Fair is Coming!

Mark your calendars!  Beginning October 17, the Scholastic Book Fair will be at your library.  Going through October 26, you can shop for great deals on new titles from these popular series: 39 Clues, The Kane Chronicles, The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, and Big Nate.  You will also find old favorites and great discount priced books.  The book fair will also be open during parent-teacher conferences.  Grab a preview flier in the library and prepare to shop!
